As I work on my last paper of my college career I have been listening to this song over and over in the library. Please enjoy it as much as I do, if you can.

We at Future Tenant are all about patronizing local small businesses…and we love our moms! With Mother’s Day coming up this Sunday, we present a few of the best spots in town to get her a little somethin’ special.

Wildcard

4209 Butler St, Lawrenceville

If you’ve never been to Wild Card, you’re seriously missing out! They’ve got the best selection of cards, wrapping paper, stationery and PGH-focused gifty things in town. You’ll find prints, t-shirts, jewelry, bags, and all of the other little et ceteras you need to make Mom smile. And BONUS: A lot of their merchandise is comes from local artists and crafters! This is a great and worthy place to throw around some of your hard-earned dollars. (And, trust us, it won’t be hard to do. We rarely come out of here without a shopping bag.)

Penhollows

244A South HIghland Ave, Shadyside

Penhollows offers and extremely well-curated selection of housewares and gifts sure to please any style-conscious mama. From jewelry to beautifully scented candles to books and teapots, we’re pretty sure that anything you pick up in here will be met with plenty of hugs and cheek-pinching. We are in LOVE with the mugs above by Emma Bridgewater. Also, you can shop a limited inventory online and ship it right to her! How convenient!

Knit One

2721 Murray Ave, Squirrel Hill

Our mammas LOVE to knit. They especially love to knit with nice, high quality yarn and supplies. The selection inside of Knit One makes our jaws drop every time we pass by! There are so many beautiful colors and patterns to choose from, you might just end up picking some up for yourself! Plus, they offer a wealth of knitting classes….on Sunday afternoons, they have a charity knitting session where they knit chemo caps for people undergoing cancer treatments. We like this. We like it a lot.
